This luminous cover from Collier’s Weekly (May 1, 1909) showcases Maxfield Parrish's work toward the end of an exclusive agreement he had with the magazine from 1904-1910. The Artist is one of Parrish’s most iconic commissions for Collier's. Parrish used himself as the model for the central figure, capturing the creative spirit he so brilliantly embodied.
