Two original illustrations by Harrison Fisher, one of the most prominent artists from the golden age of American illustration. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Fisher spent much of his career working in California and is best known for his elegant illustrations of women.

The Illustrations

First illustration: A gowned woman reclining in a wicker chaise lounge
Second illustration: A finely dressed man and woman, appearing as though they are about to attend a gala

Condition

Both illustrations are in near mint condition. Minor toning and fading are the only issues present. Each has been trimmed but not cropped—the entirety of the image in each is preserved.

Provenance

Fisher worked extensively for Cosmopolitan, The Saturday Evening Post, Scribner's, Life, McClure's, and other major publications. The original publication source for these two illustrations is uncertain, but they represent the refined style and subject matter that made Fisher one of the era's most celebrated illustrators.
